space coast Welcome to our Space Coast! I have been a resident of Brevard County Florida since the summer of 1961. My family move here from Alabama when the Space program was just beginning. My first experience of growing up with rockets was when Alan Shepard was launched into space in his Mercury capsule. I watched the launch from the beach! What an experience that was to a 9 year old girl.

Anytime is a perfect time to take a vacation on Our Space Coast. Cape Canaveral is home to one of the world's largest sea ports, and center to many cultural and recreational activities.

Being 72 miles long, Brevard county Florida has a multitude of diverse attractions that make its half million citizens very happy to live here. we still have space launches, Deltas, Shuttles and others are launched on a regular schedule, and you can still watch from the beach.

Kennedy space center has the Visitors center, with bus tours of the space complex, Imax theater, exhibits, and the Air and Space Museum. Just as important as science is our natural wonders such as the Indian River Lagoon, Turkey Creek Sanctuary, not to mention miles of beaches.



The Space Coast is also host to some of the finest golf courses in the country like the Baytree National course in Melbourne, Duran in Viera, Turtle Creek in Rockledge, The Majors in Palm Bay and of course Cocoa Beach country club. All are fine courses.


Spring like weather abounds from October to April and that is the time for all of the outdoor art festivals, craft shows, ethic festivals and surfing contests.
