One of the Space Coast's most popular and endearing attractions! Built solely by volunteers, The Brevard Zoo features over 550 animals including giraffes, alligators, giant anteaters, cougars, eagles, river otters, exotic birds, kangaroo, giant fruit bats, and more. In 2008, the zoo added a children's only section called "Paws-On" which is an interactive play area featuring a kiddie pool, petting zoo, learning area, contact yard, and an adventurous playground full of fun for both children and adults.

Tips for a Great Visit
The Rules of the Wild
Smoking is not permitted inside the Zoo. Pets (other than service animals) are not permitted inside the Zoo. For the health of your pet, do not leave it in your vehicle. Shirt and shoes are required at all times. Weapons, of any kind, including firearms, are not permitted on Zoo grounds. Bicycles, skateboards, roller blades, and rolling shoes (heelies) are not permitted in the Zoo. Please respect the animals. Teasing, yelling, throwing human food or other objects into their exhibits or at native animals on grounds may result in expulsion from the park. Commercial photographers, videographers, and the media must contact the Marketing Director in advance prior to taking any photo, image, and interview. Personal property of any kind left in the area will be placed into Lost and Found for 24 hours then discarded. The Zoo accepts no responsibility for items left in this area whatsoever. No loitering or solicitations on Zoo property, including the parking areas, is permitted without prior approval
Length of Stay
We consider the Zoo to be a half-day experience. Plan for a minimum of one hour to see all of the exhibits and at least an hour to experience our new Paws On children's play area. Then based on activities and animal demonstrations, you may find you stay for up to four hours.
Inclement Weather
Brevard Zoo is open rain or shine and most of the Zoo experience is outdoors. For your safety, certain activities may need to close during severe weather and some animals will go off exhibit. Activities will re-open as soon as possible. Refunds and rain checks are not offered for inclement weather.
Lost and Found
Items lost in the park may be identified and claimed at the main office located at the main entrance. Brevard Zoo is not responsible for personal property left by patrons in the park. Neither Brevard Zoo nor its employees assume responsibility for the loss of, or damage to, personal property.
Lost Children
We encourage you to establish a meeting place in case your group becomes separated. Instruct children to contact the nearest Brevard Zoo employee for assistance.
Handicap
Brevard Zoo is handicapped accessible with wheelchair and stroller rentals.

Eating
The Flamingo Café and Whale's Tail offers a large selection of food, snacks, and drinks. The Zoo also serves Dippin’ Dots ice cream. The Flamingo Café and Whale's Tail are open daily from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but times may change. Please note that the Zoo does not permit patrons to bring alcohol on Zoo grounds.
Things to Do
Brevard Zoo offers lots of activities like kayaking, riding the train, and feeding the animals. In addition, the Zoo daily offers animal demos that rotate depending on the day including alligator, otter, and vulture feedings. Feed the Giraffes / Lorikeets Feed the giraffes at the giraffe platform in Expedition Africa. Treats are $2. Feed nectar to the lorikeets (parrots) in the Aviary in Australasia. Nectar cups are $1. Feed seed sticks to the cockatiels in the Aviary in Australasia. Seed sticks are $1.
Train
Cape to Cairo Express train rideRide the rails past the Australian aviary and around Lemur Island; cost $3 for ages 2 and up. A portion of each ride benefits the Zoo's conservation programs. The train ride is approximately 10 minutes.
Kayaking Brevard Zoo offers two guided kayaking tours. Choose a guided kayaking tour of our 22 acre restored wetlands in Wild Florida at the Wetlands Outpost or paddle through Expedition Africa. Cost is $6 per person. No children under the age of 5 can kayak, and children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult in the kayak with them. All participants must sign a waiver in order to kayak. For children under the age of 16, only a signed waiver will be accepted from a parent, grandparent, or legal guardian.
Animal Demos Alligator and Crocodile Feeding: Alligator and Crocodile feedings are at 3 p.m. every Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday and can be seen from the bridge to Wild Florida.
Vulture Feeding: Vulture feedings are at 12 noon daily in the La Selva loop.
River Otter Feeding: River Otter feedings are at 2 p.m. every Tuesday and Saturday at the otter habitat in Wild Florida.
Zoo Packages For a reduced rate on admission into the Zoo, you can purchase an activity package at the main entrance when you arrive.
